Cary Davidson

Cary Davidson has specialized in political and nonprofit organization law since 1980, serving as treasurer and legal counsel for hundreds of local, state, and federal campaign committees. He represents corporations, trade associations, labor unions, lobbyists, candidates, and ballot measure committees, advising on compliance with political committee regulations, lobbying laws, and conflict of interest rules across the U.S. In the nonprofit sector, he has helped establish and advise numerous organizations, often serving as legal counsel, secretary, or treasurer, and frequently speaks on governance structures and the intersection of nonprofits and politics. He is Vice Chair of the Board of Governors of Hebrew Union College, Chair of its Western Region Board of Advisors, and a member of the North American Board of the Union for Reform Judaism, the Claremont McKenna College Board of Trustees, and the Claremont McKenna College Alumni Association Board of Directors. Previously, he served as president of the California Political Attorneys Association, Equality California, Equality California Institute, Congregation Kol Ami, and the Claremont McKenna College Alumni Association. He was also a board member of the Rose Institute of State and Local Government, served on the California Complete Count Committee for the 2010 Census, and chaired the editorial board of Los Angeles Lawyer Magazine. Cary earned his B.A. from Claremont McKenna College (summa cum laude, 1975) and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School (1978).
