Sue Neuman Hochberg joined the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion Board of Governors in 2009, serving as Immediate Past Chair and former Secretary—the second woman to hold the Chair role in its history. A leader in Los Angeles philanthropy, she has been on the Cedars-Sinai Board since 1994 and became a Life Trustee in 2015. She previously led the John Wayne Cancer Institute Auxiliary and held key roles with the Jewish Federation. A former comptroller in the direct mail industry. She is married to Larry Hochberg, founder and developer of Sportmart stores, who has also been deeply involved in Jewish philanthropy. She and her husband split their time between Chicago and Los Angeles.
